Everyday we watch markets, looking for them to move in our direction or to find an entry. There are times that watching them is an exercise in futility and can only lead to trouble. We are in one of those periods now.
Markets are in the typical summer trade with many on vacation, waiting on the FED and Jackson Hole, Wyoming plus other things to watch. This time of year is generally the most problematic for traders who force trades that don’t exist.
Since we are mechanical traders, we are never out of markets that we trade. We remain Long Gold, Short Silver and would be short Platinum if it was liquid enough to be active. Sometimes the best trade is the one you don’t make.
Patience, discipline, and money management always win the day. Let the map of the markets show you the way. Guessing the next move is a fool’s game.
